Have to post this because it worked for me as a self experiment: Simply set a time for going to bed, not a time to be asleep at; and then turn your phone off and leave it in your living room and go to bed at that time, no TV or nonsense in bed: After a week, youre getting sound sleep and waking up fresh, sharp and ready: Side Note for anxiety persons: If you ever feel sudden Panic coming on, simply tense all your stomach/ab muscles in and hold them and the panic will dissipate down into your core, resulting in a reward experience:

Western people would learn a lot about consciousness if they experimented with it as many Asian civilizations have for 2000+ years. Parts of this conversation sound like dolphins discussing bicycles. The west is simply extremely conceptually limited in terms of phenomenological and theoretical vocabularies for conceiving of compelling metaphysical models which include "consciousness" and "intelligence." Western thinkers are also limited by lacking important phenomenological experiences (and skills) that are part of intellectual inquiry in the East. Western scientists in many ways are archivists, more interested in what books say about consciousness than their own direct experience. The west's distrust of the body, self inquiry, and the body as laboratory means there will always be a lack of understanding of consciousness itself, as the model is wrong.

1:41:10 ...but then maybe the `idea` and/or perception of zeros and ones is a pure construction with no connection to reality. How can one say that sensual experience is constructed when the evidence itself for such conclusion is sensual experience (which then must be taken as not-constructed)? Its always this same fallacy in regard to cognitive constructivism that it must rely on non-constructed data to formulate its thesis which denies the existence of non-constructed data. (He talks as if colours were not constructed...sigh) It simply isn`t coherent. And although this problem was formulated allready more than 100 years ago, hadly any neuroscientists or cognitive constructivists ever take it serious or respond to it with a plausable explanation. And for such unlogical BS knowledge animals are basically tortured and killed when they`ve served the purpose?

46:00 that creature sounds like you are connecting to the energy of being the observer of your own experience. Whether you are in dream time, or you are in a state of flow, that sounds like what you were explaining ,, or are experiencing different perceptions in your mind, use your pencil and take notes As soon as the experience is finished. Even if it’s just scribbling it will build a bridge between those experiences and it will cause more, speak of them more also. I started doing this when I was 10 years old. But it might be just easier for me to connect to worlds really fast and snap on and off, probably because I have narcolepsy. But I use that to my advantage now. The doctor tested me and asked me to fall asleep, I put myself in REM in 30 seconds in the second time in two minutes. Are used to think in grade school this was daydreaming and in high school. That’s probably why I didn’t pick up on math back then.To cause some neuroplasticity in these moments take notes after . Pull out an instrument and dance with your fingers or your body. Research has shown that this is the number one way to cause neuroplasticity. where ever you feel your consciousness separate imagine a bridge visualize this it will connect your worlds.

How does Andrew relate to Robert Sapolsky ? Do they communicate in their specialty? Andrew looks healthier and seems less judgmental than Robert. Perhaps Lex could have Robert on his show.

For a living thing to have consciousness I see these qualifiers: the awareness of one's surroundings and the ability to respond to the stimuli received by the environment in which they live. As a whole consciousness is much more and we living things simply tap into consciousness that is outside of our existence. There is one consciousness and we living things are a sort of antenna to recieve it. We have an individual perspective of reality that is created by our brain which derives information from the body's senses. The ultimate reality cannot be understood by one living thing. We don't even see 1 percent of the electromagnetic spectrum. If I recall correctly it is around 0.0035% we can "see" I prefer the word interrupt over see. Our brains don't see anything; we don't see anything. Our brain is a biological computer in darkness decifering stimuli and creating our individual reality.

Damn! This is some serious discussion. Super grateful that this has been made available. Thx much. For the record. I’m Master Degree’d Mental Health Counselor from Southern OR University. I greatly enjoy this channel and it’s content. Coming up from the lower socio-economic class a core lesson when it came to work and “tricking” the mind to adapt to work. My father taught me that when I asked, “When will we be done?” He’d say (and the answer was always), “When we’re done”.

Please take all the time needed for mistakes (or whatever)and ignore the naysayers as much as possible. I listen to a variety of different podcasts, from Rogan, to Weinsteins, to Coleman Hughes, to Megyn Kelly, to Sam Harris and many more. Yours is the one I most enjoy and look foreword to. Your honesty, integrity, vulnerability, sensitivity, kindness, intelligence and wit are so refreshing, and always challenge me to question my 68+ years of assumptions. Thank you, Lex, for all you contribute to this broken world 🙏❤️
