In Frozen 2, a key plot point is the idea presented by everyone's favorite snowman, Olaf. He tells us that water has memory. That is a concept that has been around for a while and, while I am not one to fault the water based science of a creature that is literally made from frozen WATER, that is exactly what I am here to do. This is a even bigger issue than Matt made it out to be. Water has memory is the theory homeopathy uses to sell medicine. So not only are kids being taught pseudoscience, they are more likely to believe in quackery instead of evidence based medicine when it’s important

That scene where Elsa falls through the ice and freezes over. She is actually dead. The form that comes back is Elsa as the Elemental, a spirit of ice. The reason it's Elsa is that "Water has memory". It is hinted to throughout the film thanks to the call that draws her to the ice cave. The Deus Irae, it is a song associated with death and dying.
